Reg park was an english bodybuilder , businessman and actor. He is famously known for being arnolds idol and mentor.   Reg was born on 7th june 1928 in leeds , west yorkshire. During his teenage years he excelled at football. In the year 1940 he suffered an knee injury which ruled him out of soccer. While using wwights for rehabiliation , reg encountered a bodybuilding magazine and decided to have a similar body. He was not only muscular but also very strong as he was the only second man to bench press 500lbs during that time , first being Doug Hepburn. At 21 , Reg moved to America where he stayed for 6 months and was noticed by Joe Weider. After which he was featured in alot of magazines. The most impressive thing about reg was that he was a drug free athlete. John Grimek and Steeve Reeves were his inspiration. He was inducted into IFBB hall of fame in 1999. Flex Lewis posted his training updates with his training partner on his instagram story. One of the main attraction of this years olympia is that flex will be making his mens open bodybuilding debut. He already has 7 Mr. Olympia titles to his name in the 212 category , so it will be intresting to see how he does at this years olympia.    Looking at the stories it can be said that he has gained some size and is obviously looking bigger than before . Although he doesnt need to increase a crazy amount of size because he is known for coming absolutely conditioned. Some might argue that he is small for mens open but we have already seen hadi choopan doing well in last years olympia who was also a 212 competitor previously. He is not a very tall guy but we have seen shorter builders doing well in previous years such as william bonac and hadi choopan. Now we have our new deadlift world record holder , hafthor bjornsson. He deadlifted 501kg , defeating the previous record held by Eddie hall by 1 kg. He did attempt this at his home gym in iceland due to the ongoing virus scare. He now is the strongest deadlifter in the world. He did take three attempts, the first one being 420 kgs and the second one was 465kgs and the third and final one being 501kgs. Although he did not attempt 520kgs and decided to call it a day at 501kgs. His lift was being live streamed and a lot of people watched it. Inorder to maintain the transparency all the plates were weighed before the lifts as there were doubts raised on the transparency of the lift since it was being done at a home gym.

All of this started when hafthor decided to  attempt a 501kg deadlift , which would be a world record beating previous record by 1 kg held by eddie hall but he was attempting this at his home gym in iceland. He was actually preparing to do this at a show in dubai but due to the current situation , he decided to do this at his home gym. Then eddie told that even if thor deadlifted that weight he would not consider it as a world record because it was being done in a home gym and said that he did not trust him nor his team in iceland. This did not go well with thor and he posted in reply to that saying he was robbed at the 2017 WSM and it was the same year in which eddie won the worlds strongest man title. He also said that judging was not fair and it was him who deserved to win. Then eddie responded saying that hafthor lost it fair and square. With all the body building events being cancelled it might be the last physique update from big ramy until he decides to compete later in the year in order to qualify for the olympia. Looking from the picture it looks as if he is still in good shape and is probably thinking of competing in shows later this year in order to qualify for the olympia. Many of his fans were left disappointed after he placed 3rd in the 2020 arnold classic. As of now he is not officially qualified for the olympia as he has not won any show this year.

Well as we all know that the corona virus has brought the whole world to a standstill,bodybuilding is no exception to it. All the competitions until 10th may have been called off which includes a lot of big shows.There were many people who were wondering if the same would happen to the olympia.So is the olympia really being called off??? No,the olympia is not being called off or postponed and will be held as per schedule as reported on their insta.This is some really good news for all the body building fans in these testing times.So lets just hope all of this virus havoc ends as quickly as possible. 1982 IFBB Mr. Olympia champion Chris Dickerson has suffered a heart attack. His long time friend and former training partner Bill pearl broke this news on facebook Chris Dickerson  is one of the most impressive body builders to ever compete at the highest level. He has also competed in masters olympia , winning the masters olympia. We all pray for him to make a speedy recovery.
